We thought ourselves to be 'young and motivated' when we entered degree college at 18 in Mumbai. As students, we often felt like we are going to learn everything that we need to. This confidence kept dwindling over the years. It was hard to find and maintain direction!
It is easy to muster up the drive to ace a test or deliver a stellar project but it is hard to FIND a bullseye and KEEP your focus on the target without losing grip.
On graduating, there was a sudden influx of information that we wouldn't have fathomed about the real world until we reached there. Be it how hiring works, how products work, companies with "Itne crores ka profit" and "What a strategy!" - this was all your typical B-School gossip till we stopped being in school and reality hit differently.
We mooned over several career decisions we had taken fortnightly. Ultimately, this analysis did not leave us paralyzed. We identified that relevant conversations with the right people could have saved us many moments of regret and opened our eyes to a world that goes beyond Science, Commerce & Arts. After all, each one of us is a dynamic alloy of the three but our system forbids this amalgamation professionally.
We came up with a simple solution: connect with people several years your senior while you're still in school and college. These people remember their triumphs, mistakes and experiences like yesterday. By exposing yourself to the different avenues that can be, you might find out that a certain passion of yours can translate into different career opportunities, ones that you had never even heard of.
We operate on the principle of 'Knowledge is power' and help you connect with those whose profiles have aspects that you are curious about, be it interests or education. By just engaging in a great, insightful conversation with such people, we can guarantee, you will know at least five more things than you did before.
When we reached out to our peers & friends, our apprehensions that we all had been victims to this feeling of being ‘lost’ were re-affirmed. Being lost is a rite of passage, but as a community, we are opening a door for you to find yourself.
